Applications for licences online
Innovation is yet again the name of the game at Vale Royal Borough Council, this time in the shape of online license applications.
The Council will be one of the first in the U.K. to offer the service which aims to make the license application process quick, easy and accessible to all businesses following the government decision to give Local Authorities the power to grant all licenses.
There are 400 plus businesses across Vale Royal that will be eligible to use the electronic licensing application system. If you would like to apply for or renew your Entertainment License you can now do so online by visiting the Licensing Online website.
How to use the system
Select the service you require from list given and click the GO button. On the next screen select 'applicant' * and then select the 'register' tab in the top right hand side of the screen. Register your details to obtain a login name and password and then follow the on-screen instructions. * If you have already registered your details you can click straight on the login button.
What the On-Line System offers You
Applicants using the system online, have found it to be less onerous than the 28 page paper version, mainly because of the 'process mapping' that has been implemented; to assist an Applicant in answering only the relevant questions (based on the user selections). The new system has an 'auto-fill', to help speed up the data entry from previous sections.
When it comes to printing the finished Application, the system outputs the data in the accepted format. Whilst a paper
copy is printed for signing, the electronic version is alerted to the Vale Royal for review prior to receiving the paper application in the post. This greatly improves the speed of applications, as we can choose the Return To Sender option if there are anomalies with your details. The Applicant can then go back online with their user name and password and make changes, resubmit and print the application without any postal delays.
