Streetcare and Cleaning
Street Cleansing Programme
The Council's Street Cleansing programme incorporates the cleaning of areas identified as dirty and as such those areas that are clean and do not require cleansing do not fall within the programme.
The Environmental Protection Act (1990) requires that the service be, to a certain degree, responsive and not scheduled. This is in order to address the requirement within the Act to bring an area back to a satisfactory standard within a specified period of time.
Details on these standards can be found on the ENCAMS website.
