Inclusive Fitness Initiative
Winsford Sports Complex was selected as one of only 150 facilities across the country to be a part of the Inclusive Fitness Facility Initiative, supporting disabled people to gain inclusive access to fitness facilities. This is achieved through developments in four key areas:
- Inclusive Equipment - Ensuring that the equipment within the gym can be used by both disabled and non-disabled people alike
- Inclusive Training - Ensuring that staff can offer a quality, effective and value for money service throughout the whole facility
- Inclusive Marketing - Ensuring that facilities understand how to communicate effectively with disabled people
- Inclusive Development - Ensuring that there are alternative inclusive physical activity opportunities within the local authority area
Winsford Sports Complex has worked hard to progress through the application phase of the initiative and has invested in making the facility more accessible and will now be specifically encouraging disabled people to use the gym and the other facilities that are available.
