The Arts Development Team consists of the Arts Development Officer and the Assistant Arts Development Officer.
The function of the Arts Development Team is to support and develop arts activity across the borough and to work with local, county, regional and national organisations to ensure the delivery of a high quality service. In order to generate arts opportunities and funding the borough relies on a range of strong partnerships.
The Arts Development Team want everyone in the Vale Royal area to feel that they can participate in the arts activities that are taking place.
We aim to bring a variety of people together and give them the opportunity of trying something new and exciting.

The Vale Royal Arts Strategy
Vale Royal Borough Council officially adopted the Arts Strategy on the 29 April 2004.
The consultation on this strategy has been extensive and the feedback received has shaped the final document and given clear guidance.
We hope you will find the strategy interesting and useful; whether using it for information or as a lever for external funding.

Current Arts Activities/Projects
There is a diverse programme of arts activities generated by the large number of various community groups located in the borough. These enthusiastic arts groups cover a wide range of art forms and are active throughout the area.
Arts organisations, facilities and projects currently within the borough include:
Vale Royal Arts Council
This umbrella arts group has been in existence for over 25 years and currently advises on Vale Royal Borough Council grant allocation.
Development of the Arts in Northwich
DAN aims to provide and develop a full range of high quality arts activities with funding from Vale Royal Borough Council and NWA. It employs a full time director and is run by a management committee.
Cheshire Dance
The Development Agency for dance in the county and beyond is based in Winsford.
Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham
A venue offering a varied programme of exhibitions and events run by a body of trustees and working committees of volunteers.
Rural Touring Theatre Scheme
A Cheshire wide scheme operated by a co-ordinator from Cheshire County Council.
Cheshire Open Studios
A scheme involving visual artists from across Cheshire.
Rural Touring Film
Film showings in villages in Vale Royal.
Public Art Initiatives
Partners include the Action Weaver Valley and Cheshire County Council (Countryside/Arts service.)
Wear Purple
A RALP funded arts project for over 55s in Vale Royal with part time co-ordinator run in partnership with Age Concern.
