Abandoned Vehicles

Abandoned vehicles are both a blight on the environment and may present a hazard. Vale Royal Borough Council is keen to work with residents to ensure such problem vehicles are removed. When an abandoned vehicle is reported, our staff will make a site visit and confirm that the vehicle is truly abandoned. A notice will be served and attempts to contact the owner made. However, if the vehicle is not moved or taxed it will then be removed and destroyed.

What may determine an abandoned vehicle?

• The condition and location of the vehicle.
• The vehicle has not moved for a prolonged duration of time.
• The vehicle does not display a current tax disk.
